College of Education Convocation Ceremony

9:00 a.m. CDT (Doors open at 8:00 a.m. CDT)
Activities and Recreation Center (ARC), Gym 1, 201 E. Peabody Dr., Champaign, IL 61820

This is a non-ticketed event, and seating is general admissionThe ceremony typically lasts two hours. Names of graduating students attending the ceremony will be read in order of degree (bachelor's, master's, certificate, and doctoral).

Convocation is not a certification of graduation, but rather a ceremony that celebrates your academic achievements. You must satisfy all of your degree requirements before you officially graduate and receive your diploma.

To Do Checklist 1. All students who intend to graduate must apply to graduate via the "Graduation" tab in the Banner Self-Service System. Please be aware of the deadlines.

2. Registration for the College of Education 2025 Convocation will be open in early March 2025. Please email events@education.illinois.edu if you have any questions.

3. Visit the Academic Attire page to order the required regalia.

4. Read more about The College of Education ceremony in the tabs on the left side of the screen. Links to both the Graduate College Doctoral Hooding ceremony and University Commencement ceremony are included if you choose to participate in those events.
Post-Ceremony Celebration

Join your fellow graduates, family, friends, and College of Education faculty and staff at the Education Building (1310 S. Sixth Street) after Convocation! The reception will have photo opportunities, cookies and water, and a small gift for each graduate.
