All graduates and degree candidates participating in Commencement Weekend ceremonies are required to wear appropriate academic attire designed specifically for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Students receiving a master's degree will wear their hoods during the ceremony.
Students receiving a doctoral degree will be hooded on the stage during the ceremony so that they will carry their hoods over their left arm into the ceremony. To request a hooder, please submit the College of Education Convocation Hooder Request form(will be live after registration opens).

Academic attire rentals must be ordered through Herff Jones.
Early Discount Pricing: Until April 14, 2025, at 10:59 p.m. CDT
Regular Pricing: April 15 through April 29, 2025, at 10:59 p.m. CDT
Rental fees must be paid in full when placing your order with Herff Jones. Academic attire with a return label will be mailed to your preferred address (within the U.S.).
