The College of Education is a part of the University of Illinois Graduate College. Therefore, you will apply to our program by the application deadline using the Graduate College application. When completing your application, you will need to indicate the CERT to which you are applying. Please visit our Graduate Certificates (CERT) page to learn more about your CERT program options.

Required Application Materials

To be considered for admission to the CERT program, you will need to submit the following application materials:

• Graduate College application
• Transcripts*
• Resume/Curriculum Vitae
  
  *At the time of application, you are only required to upload unofficial copies of your transcripts into the application.  The unofficial copy can be a screenshot or scanned copy but should not be a photo of the transcript.  Applicants must have earned at least a degree from an accredited college in the United States or a comparable degree from a recognized institution of higher learning abroad.  If admitted, you will be required to submit official transcripts to the Graduate College.  

NOTE: GRE scores are not required for admission consideration to a Graduate Certificate (CERT) program at the College of Education. There is no application fee. Additional application materials, such as evidence of English proficiency, may be required for international applicants.

Required Admission Criteria

To be considered for admission to the CERT program, you will need to meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants must have earned at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in the United States or a comparable degree from a recognized institution of higher learning abroad.  If admitted, you will be required to submit official transcripts to the Graduate College.
  
  
• 3.0 Minimum GPA: A grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (A=4.0), or comparable GPA for an international applicant, for last two years of undergraduate study is a minimum requirement for admission.
