At Illinois, we’re expanding the definition of what it means to be a teacher. We equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead in a variety of learning environments – both inside and outside the classroom.
Employers often prefer our graduates for their robust foundation in diversity, technology, hands-on field experience, and rigorous research skills.
“The University of Illinois candidates this year and in recent years have been outstanding. They are so knowledgeable, hardworking, and positive—all qualities I am very much looking for in new teachers. I’ve hired three University of Illinois students to fill classroom positions for the upcoming school year.”
—Colette Bell, principal, Anne Fox Elementary School, Hanover Park, Illinois
"I chose Illinois because I received scholarships that assisted me financially and allowed my family to envision a future here. I was confident that I would receive the necessary support to pursue and accomplish my goal of becoming a teacher."
