Learning Design and Leadership EdM, CERT, and COS Info Session - Education at Illinois, Online Programs

The College of Education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is hosting an information session for the Learning Design and Leadership Online Master of Education (EdM), Graduate Certificate (CERT), and Certificate of Specialization (COS) programs. We invite you to participate in this event and join an online Master's in Education program that is top in value in terms of quality and price, with a low credit cost among the top 10 ranked institutions, according to U.S. News and World Report.

This session will focus on the following Learning Design and Leadership programs:

  • Online Master of Education (EdM).
  • Campus Graduate Certificate (CERT).
  • Certificates of Specialization (COS).

During this session, you will learn about:

  • Eligibility.
  • Program structure.
  • Admissions.
  • Career paths.

The coursework consists of content related to: 

  • Tackling challenging questions in the science and practice of learning and creating more effective, innovative, transformative learning environments. 
  • Covers the foundational question of coming-to-know, not just for children and adults in traditional education institutions, but also in informal community, civic, and workplace settings. 
  • Prepares educators with a pedagogical repertoire of learning/teaching strategies to support the design and delivery of their subject matter and learning goals. 

These programs are designed for learning, development, and training professionals across industries, organizations, and educators in PK-16 around the world who want to:

  • Advance their knowledge, skills, and competencies in designing and developing efficient, effective, and engaging learning systems and environments.
  • Become autonomous knowledge creators and sharers to advance the practice of learning design.
  • Implement alternative forms of assessment.
  • Innovate teaching and learning through sound evaluations.

Alumni have held positions such as:

  • eLearning Designer.
  • eLearning Developer.
  • Learning and Development Manager.
  • Curriculum Designer.
  • Instructional Systems Specialist.
  • Learning Solutions Architect.

Students completing a Campus Graduate Certificate (CERT) program or Certificate of Specialization (COS) can apply the course credits earned toward a master’s or doctorate program in Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership, upon admission to those programs. For more information, visit the program page.
