Nicholas Burbules, Gutgsell Professor in the College of Education and member of the University Senates Conference, was recently interviewed about the Discovery Partners Institute (DPI) and their two-, five-, and ten-year business plan.

In fact, College faculty have been involved as experts in the development of the Discovery Partners Institute in Chicago since its inception; namely, associate professor Jessica Li, who serves as chair of its Education and Workforce Development working group, and dean James D. Anderson, who serves on Chancellor Jones' Advisory Committee for DPI-IIN, as well as the DPI Academic Executive Committee.

The Chicago-based research and education center is designed to bring together students and faculty from the U of I and other universities to tackle big challenges and promote innovation and entrepreneurship, working with partners in industry, government and other sectors.
