Christopher M. Span, received his Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001.  He is the Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the College of Education and  an Associate Professor in the Department of Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership (EPOL).  He is a former fellow in the CIC Academic Leadership Program; this program develops the leadership and managerial skills of faculty who have demonstrated exceptional ability and academic promise. He is the immediate past co-President of the Black Faculty and Academic Professional Alliances (BFAPA) and since 2011, he has been a faculty athletics representative (FAR) for the University of Illinois and Big Ten Conference. 

Kathy has been with the College of Education since 2004. She provides administrative support to Graduate Programs and assists the Associate Dean in promoting the College’s goals. She wears many hats in her professional and personal life but her favorite thing to do is antiquing.

Myranda serves as the supervisor of the Graduate Student Services Office, overseeing all day-to-day operations of GSSO. She is committed to enhancing the graduate student experience and collaboration across the college. She primarily assists students from the departments of Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Psychology, but her door is always open to help any student. Myranda has been with the College of Education since 2007.

Mitzi has been with the College of Education since 2015. As the College of Education’s Course Registration and Maintenance Specialist, Mitzi oversees course scheduling and room assignments. She also assists with registration issues students may have and override requests. Mitzi’s kind smile is the first thing you’ll see upon entering our office!

Jena provides support for graduate students in all online and off-campus programs as well as students in on campus Educational Administration & Leadership programs. She has been with the College of Education since 2004. A lover of all things Illini, Jena can often be found sporting her orange and blue at athletic events!

Stephanie provides support from inquiry through graduation primarily to on campus students in the Education Policy, Organization & Leadership and Special Education departments. She joined the College of Education in 2014. A classically trained vocalist, Stephanie is known to spontaneously serenade visitors to the office.

Denice directs the Online Programs unit. She is invested in student success and facilitating an excellent online teaching and learning community for our students, TA's and faculty. She has master's and PhD degrees in Educational Psychology and 25+ years of faculty and administrative experience in higher education. She is also a Teaching Associate Professor in the EPOL department.

Mila Thomas Fuller, Ed.D. serves as the assistant director of online learning for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Education, Fuller works to develop strategy, promote and coordinate the delivery of online, distance and blended education offerings. Additionally, she collaborates with the college’s online learning stakeholders and service providers. Recent program initiatives include the online EdM and EdD programs for the College of Education and the Instructional Design MasterTrack Certificate program.

Sharon Lee, Ph.D., has worked in higher education administration for over 15 years in both academic and student affairs, with a special interest in teaching, advising, and supporting students. Her research and teaching background is in higher education policy; educational foundations; issues of diversity, access, and equity; and campus climate.

Lee is a graduate of the College of Education, earning her doctoral degree in Educational Policy Studies in 2010. Her dissertation, supported by a Spencer Foundation Dissertation Fellowship, examined the history of Asian American student activism at the University of Illinois. As Ed.D. Online Program Manager, Lee advises and supports students with course selection and degree milestones. She also works with College of Education faculty and staff in curriculum and data assessment and research to ensure innovation in the online Ed.D. program.
