SOAR Program Provides Tutoring for Local Children

Illinois Education major tutors a Latina elementary student

A key initiative of the Center for Education in Small Urban Communities, university students can volunteer to tutor bilingual grade school students through the Student Opportunities for After-School Resources (SOAR) outreach program. This partnership between the College of Education and Champaign Unit 4 School District allows student volunteers to make a direct impact on the C-U community, while gaining valuable professional experience in a meaningful way.
