Bullying expert Dorothy Espelage part of WCIAs Beyond Bullying special; speaks on lessons learned from tragic suicide

by The College of Education / Dec 20, 2011

WCIA-3 News took an in-depth look at bullying–its causes, ways it's being expressed, what's being done to stop it, and what individuals can do. The news team turned to Educational Psychology Professor Dorothy Espelage to serve as an expert on the topic for its “Beyond Bullying” special that aired on December 2.

In a separate story that aired in November, WCIA’s Dave Benton interviewed Professor Espelage about the lessons that can be taken from 10-year-old Ashlynn Conner’s suicide. It is suspected that bullying played a part in the Ridge Farm girl’s decision to end her own life.
