Advancing Knowledge and Innovation to Enhance Communication Abilities: The Role of the Public Research University

The public research university, in partnership with students, families and communities, plays a leadership role in advancing knowledge and practice to enhance quality of life for individuals with communication disabilities and their families. This presentation will highlight innovative approaches to designing intervention research, evaluating educational outcomes, and building university-community partnerships for policy change. The primary focus will be on social impact models and interventions, including enhancing communication skills.
