College of Education alumna Deborah Ikeda will discuss how to turn obstacles into career opportunities at this event. Ikeda has a degree in elementary education and has worked in a variety of roles in higher education and student affairs. She began her career as a Chicago Public Schools teacher and spent numerous years as a student-affairs professional in community colleges. Ikeda was the founding president of Clovis Community College, and following retirement was elected to the board of trustees of her community college district.
