This presentation will provide an overview of the NSF-funded research on integrated K-8 computer science (CS) instruction for academically diverse learners, including those with disabilities. This work represents a collaboration between researchers at the University of Illinois and Cornell Tech as well as practitioners in Champaign Unit 4 School District. A brief overview of the following areas will be presented: Integration of CS into mathematics and other content areas, the Collaborative Computing Observation Instrument (C-COI), pedagogical approaches that support student learning, and future research directions.
