Essay Questions for Undergraduate Student Awards

Please compose a response to each of the following questions.  To maintain professional confidentiality, please do not refer to students or teachers by name.

1. Share your vision of yourself as a professional 5 years after graduation. Where and whom will you be teaching?  Include age of student and kind of community.  What motivated you to seek this particular type of position?  (approximately 250 words)
2. Evaluate a significant experience or ethical dilemma you have faced with people unlike yourself.  What has been the impact of that experience on you?  In what way might this experience impact you as a teacher in addressing diversity in your classroom?  (approximately 250 words)
3. Teachers often share with their students activities and interests about which they themselves are passionate and value. Describe special activities, interests, topics, or values that you hope to share with your future students. (approximately 250 words)
