Research & Outreach

A Dedication to Breakthrough Research

The College of Education at Illinois continues—despite the sequester—to receive external funding for valuable research. In 2012, more than 65% of our faculty members served as Principal Investigators on research projects. Innovations in research and scholarship and a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives are hallmarks of the Illinois experience. We understand that the humanities, science, and technology are driven by "breakthrough" moments. We believe that the future of education will be defined by that same spirit of innovation and creation.

Our strong dedication to relevant research ensures us as a leader in the field. Our students partner with faculty members who are not only leaders in the college classroom, but who are contributors to the materials being taught in the K-12 classrooms around the world.
