WWII's London Blitz shaped the life of trailblazing educator Lilian Katz

by Julie Wurth / Jul 23, 2014

Professor Emerita Lilian Katz has been a trailblazer in the field of early childhood education at the University of Illinois for more than 45 years. The 83-year-old Katz is a renowned scholar, widely published author, and international speaker who has lectured in all 50 states and spoken in 57 countries.

But as was evident at the July 2014 “That’s What She Said” event at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Katz also has an enthralling tale to relate about her childhood in Britain during World War II. Katz charmed the Krannert audience during an onstage interview with Julie Wurth of The News-Gazette. Read more and watch a short video clip.
