The College of Education’s Department of Education Policy, Organization and Leadership seeks a Coordinator for Instructional Programming for the Education Justice Project (EJP). EJP offers university-level educational programs to men incarcerated at Danville Correctional Center, a medium-high security state prison about 35 miles east of the Urbana campus. The CIP will oversee all EJP programming at the correctional center.

This is a full time, non-tenured, Academic Professional position. The Teacher Education Specialist will assist the Director of Teacher Education in managing the administrative and reporting functions of the teacher licensure program in the ITeach / ILead office. Education – Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required; Degree from teacher licensure program and/or master’s degree in education or related field strongly preferred. Three or more years of administrative experience in a department, college, or campus level office required, with expertise in data or records management, report writing, policy development and implementation preferred.

The Head must possess an earned doctorate and demonstrate a strong record of scholarship commensurate with the position of full professor. Evidence of previous administrative experience in higher education is essential, as is a strong record of acquiring external funding, an understanding of the complexities of P-12 education and teacher education for diverse learners, a commitment to building inclusive relationships, and experience with faculty and program development.
