Academic Integrity

The University of Illinois Academic Integrity defines academic dishonesty, explains penalties that may be imposed and details procedures for appeals. Academic dishonesty includes the following behaviors: cheating; fabrication; facilitating infractions of academic integrity; plagiarism; bribes, favors, and threats; academic interference; unauthorized use of University resources; failure to comply with research regulations; and computer-related infractions. All students should refrain from conduct that is academically dishonest or behavior that assists others in academic dishonesty. Academic Integrity, is thoroughly discussed in the Student Code, § 1-401.

Plagiarism and Copyright Policy

Undergraduate students should become familiar with the College of Education Plagiarism and Copyright Policy. The policy outlines the definition, how to avoid plagiarizing, penalties for plagiarism, copyright and fair use, and independent scholarship.
