Middle Grades Education Graduate Certificate is for candidates who possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant content area with the opportunity to pursue further education and wish to teach in Middle School. The Middle Grades Education (MGE) program, which includes endorsements in Literacy and Science, allows students to specialize in one area if desired, leading to licensure to teach in grades 5-8 upon completion of the coursework. The program spans 18 months, encompassing summer, fall, spring, and another summer term, and offers the option for students to continue towards a master's degree with a focus on English and science concentrations by completing an additional 12 credit hours in subsequent semesters.
