Course Description

 

This course expands the scope of literacy learning to include contemporary multimodal texts and diverse meaning-making methods across social and cultural contexts, beyond traditional written literacy.

  • Module 1: Course Orientation + Multimodal Meaning and Synesthesia
  • Module 2: Making Meaning by Reading + Making Meaning by Writing + Making Visual Meaning
  • Module 3: Making Spatial, Tactile, and Gestural Meanings + Making Audio and Oral Meanings  + Literacies to Think and to Learn
  • Module 4: Literacies and Learning Differences + Literacies Standards and Assessment
