Overview

Early Childhood Education (birth through Grade 2) prepares teachers for infant/toddler programs, preschool, kindergarten, and the early primary grades. Graduates of the program qualify for the early childhood license with early childhood special education letter of approval for birth through preschool. Illinois law and Council on Teacher Education policy require that all candidates for admission to a teacher preparation program pass the Illinois Licensure Testing System test of Basic Skills prior to admission.
