Biography

Advisor: Amber Ray and Emily Tarconish


Richard A. Price (he/him/they/them) is white cis-gendered queer scholar. He has received multiple Master's degrees in Rehabilitation/Vocational Counseling, Kinesiology - Adaptive Sport, and Applied Behavior Analysis - Autism, all from Michigan State University. Richard has served as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), working specifically with students 3-5 and school and transition-aged youth (14-21) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities for 8 years. His research focuses specifically on supporting individuals with Disabilities, and their families, within the transition out of high school into adulthood. His main focus is on employment and career development for individuals with Disabilities, with an emphasis on vocational assessments. Other areas of interest for Richard are self-determination and self-advocacy, independent living, sex education, and the intersection of LGBTQ+ Disabled youth. When not learning, you can find Richard with his friends enjoying life, dancing, and traveling the world, and taking up a recent hobby...crocheting!
