Nakyung Yoon, originally from South Korea, is a doctoral student in Language and Literacy, with an emphasis on bilingualism and bilingual education. Her research involves language, literacy, and education in culturally and linguistically diverse settings, combining perspectives from applied linguistics and education. She gives special attention to bilingual students’ identity construction in dual language (two-way) bilingual spaces, language separation policy in bilingual contexts, code-switching (or translanguaging) as a pedagogical practice, and the impact of code-switching on language and literacy acquisition among Spanish-English and English-Spanish bilingual children.
