Biography

Kelly (she/her/hers) is a Project Family IMPACT: Individualization, Mobility, Poverty, Adversity, Culture, and Trauma fellow. She received both her BS in Deaf Education and her MS in Early Intervention of Sensory Disabilities from Illinois State University. Prior to attending the University of Illinois doctoral program, she was a teacher of the Deaf and hard of hearing for 8 years.

Kelly’s research interests include parent access to services and information for their deaf and hard of hearing children and how their location impacts this access. She is also interested in trauma-informed practices in the deaf education setting and deaf education legislation.

In her free time, you can find Kelly traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
