Event Description: Join us for an interactive hybrid workshop designed for faculty in the College of Education to learn how to create and edit accessible Microsoft Word documents. Whether you're working on a Windows or Mac machine, this session will guide you through essential strategies for making your documents more inclusive to all students, including those using assistive technologies.

Session Highlights:

• Assess Document Accessibility: Learn how to evaluate the accessibility of your documents and identify areas that need improvement.
• Add Semantic Structure: Discover how to organize your Word documents with accessible headings, lists, and tables for screen reader compatibility.
• Create Accessible Hyperlinks: Understand how to use meaningful and descriptive link text to improve navigation.
• Alternative Text for Visuals: Gain skills in adding alternative text to charts, graphs, and images so that all content is accessible to students using screen readers.
• Document Properties: Explore how to apply document properties (such as title, author, and keywords) to enhance accessibility and improve document management.
• Use Accessibility Tools: Learn how to utilize the built-in accessibility checker and color contrast analyzer in Word to ensure your documents meet accessibility standards.
