Topic: Disruptions of Teaching and Learning at Public Universities During COVID-19
Online Programs invites you to the next talk in the Emerging Scholars Speaker Series. The series provides a venue for advanced doctoral research students and recent alums to present their work and share advice and support with other students about the research process.
Dr. Nathan McKee will share his research and methodology from his recent dissertation that focused on measuring disruptions in different dimensions of teaching and learning at a public university during the COVID-19 pandemic. He will share context about how this topic was formed and aligned with a theoretical framework using the metaphor of ecology, the world events that happened at different points of the development of his manuscript, and how the evolving nature of the pandemic influenced his case study approach.
There will also be time for Q & A. We invite you to participate in these events and become an active member of the online student community. All are welcome.
Dr. Nathan McKee is the Director of Academic Technologies at the University of Washington. He directs teams who support the campus classrooms and the technologies within them and teams that support students and instructors using instructional technologies like the learning management system, lecture capture tools, and video conferencing software. Nathan is a 2022 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with an Ed.D. in Educational Policy, Organization, and Leadership with a concentration in Learning Design and Leadership. He also holds an Ed.M. from the Learning Design and Leadership program at UIUC and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Kansas.
