Provides a synthesis of theoretical and autobiographical perspectives on aesthetic issues and their ramifications for the development and the critique of arts curricula. Drawing on art as an important source of knowledge and communication, the course reviews ideas from aesthetics and arts education (e.g., music, poetry, literature, visual arts, theater and dance education). Identifies principles common to all art forms but manifested differently in each of them to develop tools and skills for the design of, evaluation of, and research on arts curricula.
