About the Department
Faculty employ varied research approaches and work in diverse educational settings to have a major impact on pre-K-12 teaching and learning as well as educational policy. The department takes pride in preparing prospective and practicing teachers for the challenges of the 21st century. Faculty and students collaborate with schools in the local community, across the state, and worldwide to improve educational practice. Working together, our faculty and students make a difference in classrooms and communities locally and globally.
Teacher Preparation
Graduates of our teacher education programs in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education are among the most heavily recruited in the state. In collaboration with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, we also prepare secondary school teachers in math, science, English and Social Studies. Learn how to be part of it all here...
