COVID-19 Seed Awards

Spring 2021 Awards

May 7, 2021

A total of five awards were made in the third COVID-19 Seed Funding competition. Gift funds will support projects focusing on one of three priority areas: (1) Supplemental funding for prior COVID-19 Seed Grants; (2) Transition-focused, preparing for post-pandemic research; or (3) Theoretical or methodological innovations. Each project funded in the Spring 2021 competition is receiving up to $10,000 to conduct immediate research activities and to prepare competitive applications for external research support.

Fall 2020 Awards

Recognizing the new energy and focus that COVID-19 seed funding brought to education research in Spring 2020, the College of Education staged a second competition in Fall 2020. A total of nine projects have now been selected for Fall 2020 College of Education COVID-19 Research Seed Funding Awards. Gift funds will support nine high-relevance projects that address projects focusing on one or more of three priority areas: (1) Developing novel or modified methods for research and analysis in the new realities of remote and online learning; (2) Organizing research on topics relating to educational inequality, exacerbated by the virus and recent incidents of systemic racism; and (3) Improving teaching and/or learning in new online formats. Each project funded in the Fall 2020 competition is receiving up to $10,000 to conduct immediate research activities and to prepare competitive applications for external research support.

Spring 2020 Awards

June 15, 2020 

A total of ten awards were made in the College of Education COVID-19 Research Seed Funding Competition. Gift funds support these high-relevance projects addressing an array of emerging needs and conditions across the education spectrum. Each project has been granted funding of up to $5000 to conduct immediate research activities and to prepare competitive applications for external research support.
