Educational Administration and Leadership (EAL) offers graduates a program that embraces the broad array of leadership positions in elementary/secondary education. Educational leadership and practice are emphasized in the program. Specialized study provides preparation leading to an Illinois Principal's License (formerly known as Type 75) for elementary/secondary principals and assistant principals. This is a face-to-face program with some online courses.

Who should apply

Practicing educators at all levels with at least two years of successful full-time experience as an educator who want to:

  • Learn how to increase their effectiveness as an educational leader
  • Pursue a position such as: principal, assistant principal or other administrative position

2018 Cohorts

Principal Licensure (EdM, CAS, or EdD)
Our principal licensure program is offered on-campus, in Des Plaines, IL, and in Chicago, IL. Applicants must choose one of the three locations for the duration of the program.

Fall 2018: Oakton Community College (Des Plaines, IL) | Chicago (at Illini Center)
