Christopher Lubienski photoChristopher Lubienski, professor in EPOL, was recently featured in a USATODAY.com article about home schooling demographics.

The article starts, “There was a time when Heather Kirchner thought mothers who home-schooled their children were only the types ‘who wore long skirts and praised Jesus and all that.’ That was before the New Jersey resident decided to home-school her own daughter, Anya.

“Christopher Lubienski, professor of education policy at the University of Illinois, says that though some home-schooled students become high achievers, they may have done as well in a normal school setting. ‘There's really not good evidence that it's a better model for children," he says.
