Champaign , USA

Add to:

The 11th annual Empowering Professionals Conference, co-sponsored by the Early Intervention Training Program of the College of Education at Illinois, will take place in Palos Hills, Ill., on March 3, 2017.

Sponsored collaboratively by the Early Intervention Training Program (EITP), Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago CFC #8 and #12, and the Illinois  Developmental  Therapy Association (IDTA), the Empowering Professionals Conference is a day designed to encourage and promote best practices in early intervention by supporting early interventionists with opportunities to connect with colleagues and like-minded individuals, to learn and gather resources, and to share and support each other in their work with young children and their families. This 11th Annual Conference, "Teaming Makes Helping Happen", features a keynote address by Kristie Pretti-Frontczak. "Why Your EQ Matters At Least As Much Your IQ!" presents three strategies for promoting our own social-emotional health and well-being while exploring the correlates between social-emotional learning and positive outcomes, and implications of a strong EQ for the overall well-being of children and adults.

The day's events also include three opportunities for Breakouts Sessions, Exhibitors, and Lunch. We will close the day with Kristie Pretti-Frontczak as she guides us through a self-assessment to identify our own 'Superpowers' and empowers us to grow and use them in our life and work with children and families.
