Professor Peter Kuchinke of the Department of Education Policy, Organization & Leadership will be inducted into the 2017 International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame, located in the Thurman J. White Forum building at the University of Oklahoma.

The IACE Hall of Fame honors leaders in the fields of continuing education and adult learning, and serves as a record of inspiration for the next generation of continuing education leaders.

Dr. Kuchinke said the organization’s Hall of Fame is predicated on the recognition of the importance of education in non-traditional settings with an emphasis on lifelong learning, two elements that partly define the College of Education.

“That this can become an even bigger part of our College’s signature is evident through my induction and the induction of Dr. Ron Jacobs in 2013,” Kuchinke said.

Kuchinke has been with the College since 1997 and regularly presents at national and international conferences. His widely published research focuses on the education and training of educators working in human resource development settings in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations worldwide.

Kuchinke also explores the evolution of work as technological, economic, political, and social forces bring unprecedented rates of change to individuals, families, organizations, and countries.

The induction ceremony will take place in Suwon City, South Korea, in conjunction with the Oct. 25-27 International Conference on Adult Learning and Education, which is organized by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning. Inductees will be given a medallion and a plaque that will be displayed in the Hall of Fame at the University of Oklahoma.
