Illinois International Education Career Fair 

January 30th - 31st, 2018 - College of Education 

 

The University of Illinois College of Education has developed partnerships with institutions around the world that are both broadly and deeply impactful - to inform and enhance our core mission of research, education and public service. 

The Office of International Programs invites all those who are interested in overseas or international level employment to register for our first annual International Career Fair. Meet and arrange interviews with schools from around the world as well as discuss opportunities with international organizations. In addition, attend workshops on building your resume, education culture and school practice, and more! Open to all students, alumni, and practicing teachers.

Tuesday, January 30th - North and South Lobbies 

1:00pm - 2:00pm: Panel Discussion - Welcome and Introduction to Teach Abroad 

3:00pm - 7:00pm: Career Fair Begins - Meet with schools / organizations, arrange interviews, distribute resumes 

Wednesday, January 31st - Rooms 339, 160, 398 EDUC*

11:00am - 2:00pm: First round of interviews

2:00pm - 5:00pm: Second round of interviews

*Interview time and room location dependent on arrangements made with school / company representative on Tuesday the 30th.

In addition, we will be hosting an optional Resume Building Workshop on January 24th from 1-2:30pm. See below for details.

Information for Participants

 

Interested in teaching or working abroad? Sign up for the chance to meet with teachers and interview for positions around the world! This event is open to all University of Illinois students, current teachers, and alumni. Snacks will be provided. 

In addition, we will be holding a resume workshop prior to the event to discuss resume building for overseas employment. The workshop will take place on January 24th from 1-2pm.

What you will need for the Fair:

  • Business Professional attire

Information for Representatives

 

All international schools seeking American teachers are welcome to register for the event.

Registration fee: $150 (Upon registration we will contact you with method of payment).
Includes: Accommodation, transportation, and some meals.

One hotel room per school will be provided complementary by the Office of International Programs at the University of Illinois College of Education. If more than one representative is attending, participants may share a room (or cover under own expense). Meals will be provided during University activities.

9:30 - 2:30pm: Check in and booth set-up (North and South Lobbies)
11:00am - 12:30pm: Lunch with University of Illinois faculty and staff (Room 333)
1:00-1:50pm: Panel discussion on Teach Abroad (Room 22)
3:00pm - 7:00pm: Career Fair begins (north and south lobbies)
7:30pm: Dinner at Watson's Shack and Rail (next door to Hyatt Hotel)

Wednesday, January 31st

9:00 - 10:00am: Set up in interview rooms 
11:00am - 2:00pm: First round of interviews
2:00 - 5:00pm: Second round of interviews
