Department and Unit Social-Media Sites
We invite departments and units to host and maintain their own social-media sites with the following recommendations:

  • Communicate with the Communications Office for tips.

  • Create a maintenance and posting plan and assign appropriate student or staff time to fulfill the plan. We don't recommend starting a social-media page unless you have available staff to keep it active and dynamic.

  • Make sure to identify the College of Education and the University of Illinois when naming your social-media account and page and/or in the "About" section of the account or page. It is important to identify your affiliation with your institution.

  • Provide a URL for your unit in the "About" section of your account or page.

  • Read and adhere to the Social Media Best Practices provided by the Office of Public Affairs.

Contact the Communications Office for inquiries or comments.
