Typically, the coordinator takes the student's specific hours of availability and grade preference(s) to teachers and makes a match.
Orientation Provided
The Volunteer Coordinator holds a formal meeting and a one-on-one meeting with students if they can't attend the meeting. Speech and Hearing Service Learning has two orientations planned on campus on January 27, at 12:30 and 2.
Describe the Procedure for Signing up for Tutoring
The coordinator is flexible in these procedures. Students typically email the coordinator and in response the volunteer application and criminal background checks are emailed to the student. Once they've cleared the background check I contact them to schedule an orientation if they have not already attended one. Summary of your rights under the FCRA is availble for your information.
