Process for Linking Tutors with Teachers.

Once students have cleared their background check, the voluteer coordinator contacts students to come in for an orientation.  At the orientation, students choose a day and time to volunteer selected from a list based on teacher needs.

Orientation Provided

Two orientation dates are scheduled for fall 2012:

  • September 6th from  11:00-11:30 a.m.
  • September 17th from 9:30-10:15 a.m.

If volunteers are unable to attend one of these two sessions, they may contact the volunteer coordinator directly to schedule a one-on-one meeting.

Describe the Procedure for Signing up for Tutoring

Students should submit to the volunteer coordinator an application and a background check to get started.  Summary of your rights under the FCRA is availble for your information.

Deadline

The last week of February.

Questions/Comments From the Coordinator?

America Reads tutors are paid. the volunteer coordinator only coordinates the volunteers in the schools. Since the America Reads are paid this is coordinated by someone else (Danielle Gray) in Franklin.
