Process for Linking Tutors with Teachers.

Teachers complete a request form which the volunteer coordinator shares with tutors so they can choose a match that works for them. In addition, the coordinator receives student requests for tutors after school and use Vis a Vis to fill them. A new group is offering tutoring after school as a group, too.

Orientation Provided

The Volunteer Coordinator holds a formal meeting and one-on-one orientation with students as students sign-up.

  • September 19, 2012;  4-5 p.m. in the Edison Library
  • September 20, 2012;  4-5 p.m. in the Edison Library

Both are located at the Edison school library.

Describe the Procedure for Signing up for Tutoring

Students should fill out a volunteer application and also a background check application.  These should be sent to the volunteer coordinator.  Students should sign up for one of the orientations at Edison and if they are unable to attend, they can work out a time with the coordinator to make this happen. The orientations have paperwork that must be filled out before volunteering can begin.  Summary of your rights under the FCRA is availble for your information.
