Process for Linking Tutors with Teachers.

Coordinator receives requests from teachers the first weeks of the semester.  Then two orientations are held on campus for UI students to sign up for the time/subjects that works for them.

Orientation Provided

Interested in volunteering at a high school in Champaign? Please plan to attend ONE of the following scheduled orientation sessions on campus. Tutors will learn more about volunteering at the high school level and will have the opportunity to sign up for a time slot and class in which to  volunteer.

  • Thursday, January 31, 8:00–9:00 p.m., in Room 242 of the College of Education Building on UI campus (1310 S. Sixth St.); OR
  • Monday, February 4, 7:30-8:30 p.m., in Rm. 242 of the College of Education Building on UI campus (1310 S. Sixth St.)

Describe the Procedure for Signing up for Tutoring

Students should contact the volunteer coordinator, complete a background check and volunteer application as well as attend one of the orientations.  Summary of your rights under the FCRA is availble for your information.
