Student Opportunities for After-School Resources (SOAR)

is an after-school tutoring program that provides literacy support and homework help to Latina/o emergent bilingual/biliterate students in grades 2-5 by pairing them one-on-one with students from the University of Illinois. Each semester over 100 dedicated and enthusiastic university students from a wide variety of academic majors volunteer their time weekly to provide academic support to program participants. The SOAR program takes place at the International Prep Academy, 1605 W. Kirby Ave., Champaign.
