Associate Dean for Academic Programs

Dean Span is an historian of education in the department of Educational Policy Studies. His research interests pertain to the educational history of African Americans in the 19th and 20th century. Chris is also an avid supporter of the Department of Athletics and an alum of the College of Education.

Kathy Ryan, Undergraduate Academic Adviser

Assistant Dean

Kathy joined the College of Education in 2004 as the undergraduate advisor for students in the majors of elementary education and early childhood education. She is the campus liaison for the Golden Apple Scholars Program,  involved with the LeaderShip Center on campus, and is an adviser for Epsilon Delta, a student organization in the College of Education. December 2011, Kathy became Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs.  Kathy can be found yearly at the Roger Ebert film festival.
