Teacher Education Program Admissions
Students begin the Teacher Education Programs, typically, the Junior year. Applications are submitted the students Sophomore year to the Student Academic Affairs Office in the College. For applicants to be considered for Fall 2010 admission, they must take the Basic Skills Test no later than the last exam administered in the fall semester proceeding the spring application deadline. Applications will not be considered for anyone who has not taken the Basic Skills Test by the deadline. Basic Skills Test dates and registration information can be found online. Various dates and locations are available statewide.
There is a one time charge to students admitted to the Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Special Education and the Secondary Education Minor Certification Programs. This is a non-refundable clinical experience fee of $676.00 (subject to change with Board of Trustee approval) for those admitted for fall 2010. This fee partially covers costs associated with early field and student teaching experiences.
