"Taking classes online has been a real time-saver for me as I have been able to take quality courses from the University of Illinois from the comfort of my own home. New technologies allow us to meet online at a specific time each week and to collaborate with people from around the world.

The University of Illinois is known worldwide for innovative programs. As an educator in a rapidly changing world, I want to be on the cutting edge of this new global community that is interconnected through technology. I want to have the tools to be able to prepare my students to excel in the world they will live in. These students will be the leaders of their generation and will be able to achieve more than most of us ever dreamed possible. That's exciting to me. The University of Illinois New Learning and New Literacies program is giving me the tools needed to be the kind of teacher I want to be for today's students."

"I've loved the online program, it has been better than I expected. The synchronous class sessions have allowed me and my classmates to participate more than in a regular classroom environment. The professors really encourage class participation and collaboration. I think I've gotten to know my classmates better than if we were actually in a classroom. The professors give reasonable deadlines so it's easy to keep up with the material as long as you are doing all of the assignments. The convenience of going to class in your own home makes working and going to school manageable. You can get the degree you want without having to drive a far distance to class."
