Masters of Education in Educational Policy Studies
with an emphasis in Diversity and Equity Issues in Education
This unique online program aims at providing educators a holistic approach to issues related to diversity and equity in P-16 learning environments. The program's focus is developing teachers and administrators who are knowledgeable in learning theories, leadership in diverse environments, disability, race, gender and sexual orientation issues, and issues of social class and poverty. Participants will learn how to address the need to create a positive educational environment in which all learners feel safe, have opportunities to freely engage in the pursuit of knowledge, and are motivated to learn. This program will provide a solid foundation of learning theories, best practice models, and innovative teaching and learning techniques for addressing the diverse learner.
The Department of Educational Policy Studies is accepting applications for the emphasis in Diversity and Equity Issues in Education until April 1, 2009 for April 2009 admission and until December 1, 2009 for January 2010 admission.
