Section 4: Registration & Billing

Registration | E-Bills, Tuition Payment, & Sponsor Authorization | Financial Aids

Registration

Once you have your Bluestem/NetID password, you will create an Illinois Enterprise password by clicking here. While your Enterprise password does not control as much as your NetID password, it is still essential that you create and maintain your Enterprise password because Enterprise allows you to register for classes, see your grades, submit online payments for tuition and fees, as well as update personal information the University requests.

Once you have created your Enterprise password, you may register for your first course with the following instruction:

  • Enter the web address https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/.
  • Click on the “University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (URBANA)” link.
  • Enter your NetID and a new Enterprise password.
  • Click the “Login” link to proceed to the registration page.
  • Click “Registration and Records”. On the next screen, click “Registration”.
  • Click “Add/Drop Classes,” then click “I Agree to the Above Statement.”
  • Click the drop-down menu next to “Select a Term,” and choose the correct semester you wish to register for. Once you have chosen the correct term, please click “Submit,” and scroll to the bottom of the next screen.
  • Enter the Course Registration Number (CRN) to enroll and click “Submit Changes”.

If you need to make any changes regarding registration, please inform your program coordinator prior to doing so.

  • University fees must be paid by the first day of class, or a late fee will be assessed.
  • Any questions that are related to registration should be directed to your program coordinator with Education Online.

Billing

The University of Illinois now offers an electronic billing (E-bill) program to students! In an effort to save paper, the University has stopped mailing paper copies of your bill. You will receive an email to your University email account each month that states when your E-bill will be available.

1 ) E-Bills

An E-bill is an official document from the University that can only be accessed online. Your E-bill will be available in PDF format, which allows students/Authorized Payers to print, file, and save their bills should they choose.

How To Access Your E-Bill to Make a Payment:

  • Log on to the UI-Enterprise Self-Service.
  • Select "Account Billing Information."
  • Select the "UI-Pay."
  • Click the "E-Bill/Online Payment" button.
  • Click "View Accounts" from the menu bar at the left.

You may then click the PDF icon to view your bill in full, and print a copy if you wish (we highly recommend you print a copy for your records).

2 ) Tuition and Fee Payments

You may pay your bills by mailing a check, submitting an E-check (online payment), debit card, or credit card. Please note that credit card payments may only be completed online, and that we only accept the following credit cards: Discover, MasterCard, and American Express. If you pay with a credit card, a 2.4% convenience fee will be added. If you have any questions about payment, please contact the Student Financial Service & Cashier Operations at 217.333.2180, 800.252.1360 ext. 1360, or visit http://www.usfsco.uillinois.edu/Payments.html.

Other finances students are responsible for are: textbooks, software, and costs of travel and accommodation should an on-campus visit be necessary.

3 ) Sponsor Authorization

University Student Financial Services & Cashier Operations (USFSCO) requires a sponsor authorization letter, which will then allow an individual other than the student to pay tuition and fees associated with a student's E-bill. An authorization letter must:

  • Be written in English on the sponsor's official stationery
  • Request the University to bill the sponsor for the student’s charges
  • Identify the student student by first and last name, his/her University Identification Number (UIN) if available
  • Clearly state how much of the fees the sponsor is paying
  • Include a billing address
  • Stipulate the exact beginning and end dates of the period during which the sponsor will pay the student’s charges (if the sponsor wishes to continue payment after the end date he/she must submit a new authorization letter)
  • Contain no restrictions or contingencies (e.g., the sponsor cannot require grades and transcripts prior to making a payment)
  • Have an official signature of the sponsor
  • Be delivered by email to aroperations@uillinois.edu, faxed to 217.239.6890 or delivered by U.S. mail.

For more information, please contact USFCO. Also please note that it is important that you should contact your employer first to process it.
