Student Orientation

Welcome to Education.Online!

Education.Online Student Orientation contains tutorials and activities which provide an essential introduction to the Education Online environment. They have been designed to help you become comfortable with the software and navigation you will use on a day-to-day basis in your online courses. Our online programs and courses have a unique environment and we recommend that you participate in our Education.Online Student Orientation even if you have previous experience taking courses online.

What to expect?
During your Student Orientation, you will complete 11 sections and several activities that will ensure your familiarity and provide an essential introduction to the Education Online environment. Most sections have a brief tutorial that will assist you in achieving the section's objectives. By completing these tutorials, you ensure that you will be ready to begin your online program and that you will have the most trouble-free experience possible. Most tutorials are available in one of the below formats.
Where to begin?
You can begin each section by clicking the appropriate link in the left navigation bar or by completing the Education.Online Readiness Checklist. The readiness checklist  can help you identify where to begin and prevent a more experience online student from redundancy.  Students new to online should complete ALL 11 sections. After completing all of the sections, make sure you feel confident with the stated objectives before moving forward.

Practice Class Session

An orientation/practice class will be held exactly one week prior to your first scheduled synchronous class time to further familiarize you with your online environment. This will ensure that you can join the first class session. It is very important that you complete all the orientation sections prior to the practice class meeting! More information on this practice synchronous session will be sent to you via email by your program coordinator(s).
