Education scholars to share their Illinois experiences worldwide through Fulbright grants

Congratulations to Education at Illinois scholars Avanti Chajed (Curriculum & Instruction) and Consuelo L. Waight (Education Policy, Organization & Leadership), both of whom recently received Fulbright grants.

Avanti Chajed
Chajed has been offered a Fulbright grant to pursue a master’s degree in education at the University of Turku in Finland.

Consuelo L. WaightWaight will spend a semester at the University of Belize to study the institution's human resource capacity and needs and assist in the design and development of a leadership training institute.

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to build international relations to solve global challenges. It is administered at Illinois by the National and International Scholarships Program, which works with undergraduates and recent alumni, and the Office of External Fellowships, which assists current graduate students applying for the grant.
