Bryan Wang

Bryan Wang is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Human Resource Development (HRD) and Program Coordinator of China HRD Research and Outreach Programs, Office of International Programs, College of Education, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his Ph.D. in HRD as well as two master’s degrees in HRD and industrial & systems engineering from The Ohio State University.
Dr. Wang has expertise in structured on-the-job training (S-OJT), process improvement, performance improvement, lean manufacturing, job and task analysis, training design, leadership development, and sustaining organizational change. He has extensive experience working with organizations to design and implement employee development and organization development programs. Sample projects include developing S-OJT programs in subsidiaries of Honda and Honeywell, developing a training system conforming to ISO 10015 Quality of Training Standard in an international company, and conducting process improvement program and management training for small and medium-sized manufacturers in Ohio.
Dr. Wang recently put his focus on global HRD issues, especially in greater China area with missions to:
- Conduct HRD research, facilitate HRD practices, and bridge the gap between HRD research and practice in greater China area
- Develop HRD professionals
- Integrate HRD and Process Improvement
- Improve post-secondary technical instructional practices
