My research interests focus on four broad areas: 1) Alliance formation and collaborative forms. Knowledge transfers and boundary spanning, particularly in complex, high technology organizations such as health care, pharmaceutical, life science, renewable energy, and nanotechnology industries. Technology transfer; 2) STEM educational systems and policy toward societal problem-solving. Training and development of scientists and managers to enhance national competitiveness in science and technology. Scientific literacy across the population, recruitment and retention of women and minorities; 3) International workforce development, providing needed skills and knowledge abroad, creating cultural competencies domestically; and 4) Organizational performance in community colleges (management, policy, faculty development, teaching and learning: service learning, online learning, experiential learning).
