The College Reimagined: Inside the Studio
Architecture 571, a graduate studio under the supervision of Jeffery Poss (Associate Professor) and Richard Williams (original design architect and professor emeritus) will devote the fall 2007 semester to developing innovative solutions for the transformation and expansion of the 1964 Education Building.
The twelve students will work independantly, and in teams to create new visions for Education in the 21st century. The results will be exhibited in wooden models constructed specifically for the course and, finally, compiled into a professional publication. The College will be able to use these new concepts and designs to launch a new (or expanded) building project with the University.
Check this page throughout the semester to see photos of the studio progress and to get an inside look at the creative process behind a building. And remember, by becoming a member (free registration) of Always Illinois networking site, you can follow the studio even more closely.

Some Initial Concepts for Reimagined Faculty Offices
Student teams tackled the question of how the faculty offices within the current Education Building might be reimagined and reconfigured to become more comfortable, effective and useable spaces - without major structural changes. Photos of a few of their presentation boards are here.
