Research & Service

Dr. Cordova-Wentling’s major program of research has to do with improving human resource work performance. It focuses on expanding our knowledge base related to how organizations in the future will effectively utilize information technology and human resources to maximize work performance. Within her major program of research there are four areas. These four areas include: the career development of women in engineering and computational science, the effective management of diversity in education and the workplace, the use of information technology to enhance human performance in the workplace, and human behavior skills in engineering.

Dr. Cordova-Wentling has given over 100 presentations at international, national, regional, and state conferences. She has served as a consultant for many business firms in improving training quality and issues related to gender and to diversity in education and the workplace. She has conducted many research studies and has published over 80 journal articles related to her research. She co-authored three books one on Microcomputer Technologies for Developing Countries, another on The Role of Diversity in the Successful Transition of Minority Youth into the Workplace, and another on The Relationship Between National Culture and the Usability of E-Learning Systems. She also is currently writing a book on The Career Development of Women in Engineering and Computational Science. She is a member of several professional organizations and has received many awards and honors for her work as a researcher and educator.
